The database, designed to collect online orders for the bridalwear sundries shown in the photographic section, resides on the server for this website in its original Access '.mdb' format. Information from the database table is retrieved by ASP (Active Server Page) scripts running SQL queries via your browser over an ODBC connection to the database.

The bridalwear company can view their latest orders online at any time by using a separate administrative programme that can only be accessed by authorised personnel over a secure connection using a password. Individual order details can be acknowledged and forwarded by e-mail or the database tables can be downloaded for use in an order system.

Deram online ordering systems are designed to meet each customer's requirements. Where, because there is a huge volume of items, it is not practical to have order pages, as used in the Bridal Wear demonstration, we can provide a different system. For example, one of our clients, who specialises in aviation books, has over 6,000 new titles available on line. In this case the books are catalogued in tables. The tables can be searched and/or sorted by a range of criteria including subject, author and publisher. This enables your prospective customers to isolate an individual item or a range of items that they are interested in. The cover of many of the books can be viewed using the view facility alongside each of the listed entries. In this way tens of thousands of items can be made available on line.
